Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

French actress Catherine Frot is best known for her comedic performances in films such as "Family Resemblances" and dramas like "The Page Turner." She demonstrated an aptitude and interest in performing from a young age and enrolled at the Versailles Conservatory as a teenager. The early part of her career was spent on stage performing at the Festival d'Avignon and in classic plays such as "Dangerous Liaisons." She made her first TV appearances as early as the mid '70s but the first role to gain attention was a supporting part in the comedic drama "Escalier C" in 1985. She then had a supporting role in the historical drama "Sorceress" in '87, but her star-making role came in the Cédric Klapisch comedy "Family Resemblances," for which she earned a Best Actress César. She received another nomination for her role in "The Dinner Game" in 1998 and had another hit (and another César nomination) with "La dilettante" in '99. Frot has also proven herself in dramatic roles, starring in the crime drama "Chaos" in 2001 and the music-themed thriller "The Page Turner" in 2006.
