Jason, born into a family of wealth, was expelled from eight different prep schools before graduating from Rhodes School. He served in WWII and then attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Discovered by actor Hume Cronyn, Jason made his film debut in 1952. He played Lt. Gil Hanley on the TV drama "Combat," for five seasons. Married three times in less than two years, Jason died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
