Gangster Umberto Scalli runs a criminal operation near a California port. Scalli decides to throw a party for his ex-partner in crime, Victor Pappas, but only to find out where Pappas has hidden a quarter of a million dollars in gold. Instead of a party, Scalli and Pappas end up in a shoot-out.

Glen is to be married to Barbara, but must find a way to tell her of his desire to wear her angora sweater, and of his cross-dressing needs in general. Another is the story of Alan, who decides to physically become a female via surgery (based on the contemporary story of Christine Jorgensen). Throughout the film a scientist inanely babbles about life and death in order to somehow elucidate the story.

Scalli is a gangster who manages women wrestlers as a front for his bookmaking, drug, and prostitution rackets. He trusts the wrong people and ends up trying to run away from both the police and mysterious mob boss Mr. Big, to whom he owes $35,000. This film features real-life wrestlers Peaches Page, Clara Mortensen (world champion wrestler), and Rita Martinez (champion of Mexico).

A happily married couple has been trying to have a baby with no luck. They discover that the husband is sterile. Their family doctor suggests that they think about artificial insemination, which at the time was considered a scandalous choice.
