Consummate Actor who got the most out of his ability to transcend the "norm", and go beyond the traditional. One of 2 Actors whose characters had the ability to reflect the societal changes in America from the 1950's to the 1970's. Deep body of work speaks for itself. From TV Westerns of the 1950's to the outrageous characterisations of the 1960's. One of the Best of All Time. Kudos Dennis , you were true to yourself...

Although outlandish and with many different viewpoints, watching films for over 50 years i can say that this death is a tragic loss to the industry, but for sure the vault is full of this mans work and accomplishments, yes he went through hardtimes and addictions but the point that everone missed was the man was living out his personal pains, and joys of his personal life and had a way to place them in a film wothout anyone noticing tha it was actually parts of his personality he was writing about. He was ceative and always experimenting with himself and films,he had a tendency through his drug use to take the camera to the limits in attempting to unviel what he experienced with his own hallucinations and effects of the drugs and boose, thake that and place them with emotions and real life situations, and youll see,all of life isnt photogenic, and the more we see the same things our mind becomes bored with them, and thats the reason for different angles and points of view. He can now get onto that chopper and ride off into the sunset and know in his heart it was he who made the world realize about the crimes of law against the freespirited kids of the 60s and early 70s.The government should be grateful that he didnt decide to do a film on Kent State Massacre.
