Sonia Henie Movies were delightful

I am 68 years old and I used to watch all the movies that are shown on TCM as a young preteen and teenager as well as my whole life. My favorites were Sonia Henie, Audie Murphy, James Stewart, and Mickey Rooney "Andy Hardy" series. I would watch any of these movies over and over again. I especially loved to watch Sonia with her beautaifull smile and stunning skating costumes. I think her acting was good as well for a person who was a professional athlete. Some of my other favorites were cowboys, such a Hopalong Cassidy, Cisco Kid, Lone Ranger, Lash LaRue, and the three cowboys that performed together but I can't remember their title, something like "The Three M-------"; they were Dusty, who rode a pinto horse, and the other rode a Palomino, and the other was a ventriloquist and had a dummy, and a host of others, too many to remember. Keep them coming. I just watched Black Beauty and Snowfire (which I vaguely remember but thoroughly enjoyed). I love horse movies. I was very said to hear of Sonia's death a such a young age as well as Audie Murphy at a very young age.

A Different Kind of Star

I'm sure very few people even know who Sonja Henie IS, nevermind know that she was briefly a top box office draw in the 1930's! While I can say that she was certainly no Crawford or Garbo as far as acting, her skating films are light, fun entertainment, and she's worth the watch. Unfortunately her work is almost completely unavailable...maybe someday TCM will give her the opportunity to show her stuff. Give her a chance!
