"I'm from an era when seduction was an art. Women don't want wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am; they want to be wooed. I use metaphors instead of describing anatomical parts." --Hayes quoted in New York Newsday, May 30, 1995.

On joining the Church of Scientology: "I stumbled in three years ago. I hit them with a lot of hard questions. I said 'What kind of place is this? Is this a cult or what? I heard y'all brainwash people.'" --Hayes in USA Today, June 5, 1995.

"I can finally enoy 'Shaft'. In fact, I listened to it two days ago and said, 'Damn, that's fresh!'" --From Entertainment Weekly, June 9, 1995.
