Three girls (Christine White, Irene Anders and Coleen Miller) living in a small, dull town dream of glamour and excitement. They think this becomes a reality when they discover some illegal money hidden by one of their employers. They take the money, go to Hollywood, buy a car and clothes and rent an elaborate house. There, they each meet a boy, one of whom eventually proves to be their downfall. And the man who was robbed finds them, and he isn't very happy.

Sgt. Welsh, Doll's immediate line officer grows an affinity for Doll, helping him through his first Kill, but never quite allowing himself to admit his admiration for the young soldier. The final scene of the movie brings home the true horror of war and the meaninglessness of it all.
