Vera and her family moved to the U.S. in 1904 and she got her start on the stage in Yiddish theatres in New York, turning to movies in 1919. She toured in vaudeville acts and appeared in films in London but is best known for her role as Mrs. Cohen in the “Cohen and Kelly” movie series. Vera was married to Nathan Gordon and their son William was a motion picture executive.
