Molly, while attracted to Bill, has to play out her role and Bill, thinking she has married his father for his money, turns his attention to Gwen, a scheming mercenary. Gwen arranges for Bill to cross the state line with her and get married, but Cornelius and the other girls catch up before the ceremony can be performed. Bill is told the truth about the hoax, and gathers Molly up in his arms.
