A former news writer, Beranger was lured away from other studios to Paramount where she wrote for future husband William DeMille, whom she'd met at a dinner party. In all, Beranger wrote for twenty four DeMille productions. She also wrote for Fox and Famous Players Lasky as well as writing a Broadway show entitled ‘His Chinese Wife.’ Beranger retired in 1934, later dying of a heart attack.
