A movie about Eastern settlers in Wyoming in the 1870s who are helped by a mysterious stranger to fend off the attack of a violent gang. Duncan McKaskel, a peaceful man who has mellowed after his days as a soldier, and Susanna, his wife and the mother of their 12-year-old son Tom, travel in a covered wagon to Wyoming, where they hope to start a cattle business. A dangerous gang of men begin to stalk them, and they are made aware of their predicament by Con Vallian, a charismatic stranger and a skilled survivor, who is pursuing a member of the gang.<P>Duncan is uncomfortable by Con's persistent presence, and resents Con's violence. Although Jennifer was shot at point blank range, Nunally realizes she isn't dead. Crawford is immediately arrested and arraigned after confessing--a seemingly slam-dunk case for hot shot assistant district attorney Willy Beachum, who has one foot out the door of the District Attorney's office on his way to a lucrative job in high-stakes corporate law. But nothing is as simple as it seems, including this case. Will the lure of power and a love affair with a sexy, ambitious attorney at his new firm overpower Willy's fierce drive to win, or worse, quash his code of ethics? In a tense duel of intellect and strategy, Crawford and Willy both learn that a "fracture" can be found in every ostensibly perfect facade.

But Buddy locates the "youth juice" and makes off with it, forcing Klump into a desperate race against time that may restore his family and win him back the woman he loves.

Now, after numerous stays from the Governor, and false hopes for her future, Cindy is finally ready to face the inevitable. But as the clock ticks on, and her days dwindle down, the one thing she is not prepared for is the unexpected relationship she develops with Rick Hayes, a novice bureaucrat from the Clemency Board who becomes convinced that misjudgments in Cindy's original defense trial led to an unjust sentence. A neophyte attorney assigned to merely review the Liggett case, Rick determines that while she definitely deserves to be in prison, the extenuating circumstances of her crime do not dictate that she be put to death. With no time to spare, and against seemingly insurmountable political odds, Rick devotes himself to the cause of saving Cindy's life with a commuted sentence.
