Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

A sexy, pouty-lipped brunette with a bad-ass attitude, Gina Gershon built a diverse resume on both stage and film over the last two decades. With a sex appeal that caught the eye of both men and women, it was Gershon's intense charisma and talent that propelled her career. A hard shell with a soft interior, her roles ranged from the touching portrayal of Nancy Sinatra in the 1992 biopic "Sinatra," to a tattooed punk rock diva in "Prey For Rock and Roll" (2003). With performances that ran the gamut of over-the-top to subtle, Gershon proved herself to be one of the most talented leading and supporting actresses in the business.

Notes

"As an actress I have one rule for myself. F--- the rules." --Gina Gershon in Entertainment Weekly, June 28, 1996.

"It's ['Showgirls'] become this big thing, like 'The Rocky Picture Show'. All these drag queens show up at midnight screenings wearing hospital gowns and cowboy hats. RuPaul came up to me once and not only knew Cristal's lines and dance routins but the color lipstick she wore. That's when I knew I had really done my job." --Gershon in Entertainment Weekly, June 28, 1996.

"When I moved to New York, I reinvented myself from a Valley surfer cick to an East Coast snob. My accent and my whole look changed. Now I'd rather stay in and read books than go out and sun myself." --Gina Gershon quoted by Jane Wollman Rusoff at "Mr. Showbiz", September 22, 1995.
