BIOGRAPHY

William Gaxton was an actor with a strong presence in film throughout his Hollywood career. Gaxton found his beginnings in film with roles in "It's the Old Army Game" (1926) and "Best Foot Forward" (1943). He then acted in "Something to Shout About" (1943) with Don Ameche, "The Heat's on" (1943) and the Betty Grable dramatic adaptation "Diamond Horseshoe" (1945). Later in his career, Gaxton worked on "The Nash Airflyte Theater" (CBS, 1950-51). Gaxton passed away in February 1963 at the age of 73.
