Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

With a head as smooth as a bullet and an expression just as fierce, American character actor Michael Gaston works prolifically playing men who exude toughness. As military men, cops, and lawyers, Gaston glowers with the best of them, but he does so with a richness that stems from his vast experience on the New York stage. In general, Gaston has taken smaller roles in film and larger ones on television, playing the mayor of the post-apocalyptic town in the CBS series "Jericho" and appearing as a policeman skeptical of the his station's blind detective in the short-lived 2005 ABC series "Blind Justice." He also made a brief but important appearance in the first episode of HBO's "The Sopranos." After focusing on mobster Tony Soprano's weakness in the first half of the program, Gaston, playing a gambler in debt, becomes the first person in the series to feel Tony's wrath. Gaston appeared as a member of the C.I.A. with Russell Crowe in the 2008 film "Body of Lies," the same year in which he appeared as General Tommy Franks in "W.," Oliver Stone's biopic about George W. Bush, and in the acclaimed sports movie "Sugar." Gaston's work pace has only picked up over the years, and since tough guys don't go out...
