Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Although character actor Warren Frost worked off and on in film and television since appearing in the 1957 United States Civil War drama "The Gray Ghost," he is better known for being the father of television producer Mark Frost (co-creator with David Lynch of the cult favorite mystery series "Twin Peaks"), television actress Lindsay Frost, and television writer Scott Frost. After working steadily in film and television in the latter half of the 1950s, Frost left Hollywood to enroll in the doctoral program at the prestigious drama school at the University of Minnesota; he then spent several years acting and directing in regional theater before returning to Hollywood in the 1980s. Frost played kindly Dr. Will Hayward in "Twin Peaks," and followed that recurring role with another on the older-skewing legal drama "Matlock" as Billy Lewis, the title character's best friend since high school. Frost concluded his acting career with a recurring role on "Seinfeld" as the father of George Costanza's doomed fiancee Susan Ross (Heidi Swedberg).
