    I can't think of a better character actor in Hollywood's golden age than William Frawley. I am continually reminded of that watching the wealth of classics on TCM and the rich cornucopia of characters like Donald Meek (an appropriate name) or Guy Kibbie. I think Jesse White is some distant relation to Bill Frawley. They must have chomped the same brand of cigar! What better legacy for a vaudevillian than to be known as best interpretor of Melancholy Baby! Live on, Bill. Leonard Garcia
