Eddie Fisher was not given many acting roles, and that is sad because he acquited himself well when he was. In Bundle of Joy, the script was weak and he did as well as he could. In Butterfield 8 in a small role, he was the best thing in the film. Very natural, very believable. As a singer, he was just sensational. Best voice I have ever heard, and at his peak in the 50s he set records that still stand for most consecutive Top 10 hits. Among his best were Oh, My Papa, Wish You Were Here (which turned a struggling Broadway show into a big hit), Lady of Spain and Milk and Honey. And his recordings of such Jewish songs as Belz and Hava Nagila were brilliant. Twice in this section it mentions that Eddie made his film debut in All About Eve. That it not true. An actor by that name played that small role in the film, but it was another Eddie Fisher. Hope someone at TCM reads this and makes the correction.
