Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Pretty brunette actress Chelsea Field made her TV debut in 1983 as a dancer on the music performance series "Solid Gold," yet she is undoubtedly best known for playing Teela, the Captain of the Royal Guard at the palace of Eternos, in the 1987 live-action He-Man movie "Masters of the Universe." Unfortunately, this action film was an absolute flop at the box office and was universally reviled by critics. Field rebounded with appearances on 1980s TV shows, scoring a one-off on the Golden Globe-winning drama "thirtysomething" and a recurring role on the Emmy-winning high school-set drama "The Bronx Zoo." In 1989 she landed the series regular role of Samantha Sullivan on the nurse-centered medical drama "Nightingales," which ultimately lasted only one season. The following year she was cast as Cassy Swann on the newsroom drama "Capital News," which also failed to make it past its first season. After this, Field appeared less often in TV and film, exploring work in theater, and spending more time with her and Bakula's two sons, Wil and Owen.
