i have only recently discovered betty field after seeing her small cameo in coogans bluff, and she just about steals the show with the 3 minutes she is on screen...marvellous, i will search out more of her work, what an underated talent.

I too am suprised that more is not submitted for this actress. The first movie I saw her in was King's Row. There was something haunting about her role. Now I know what it was. Her character was suffering from an unspeakable affliction, but had to convey it under the cover of mental illness. From time to time her face would pop up in a movie I was watching and I would always wonder what reason, or why she was not the highlight she should have been. Just the other morning to my suprise and delight, there she was as the delightful "Grace" in the movie "Bus Stop". She reminds me of those actors that are so talented, that they are believable beyond just a role. They can walk off with a scene. There lies the problem- note her as the frumpy housekeeper in Peyton Place, running rings around Glam Queen Lana Turner!Even with Red hair in Bus Stop, Marilyn Monroe had to worry a bit on Betty's sexy Grace, (And I am a BIG M.M. fan).I look forward to seeing her as Daisy.
