BIOGRAPHY ON THE WAY!
- Scott Allen Nollen
I currently am writing a biography of GLENDA FARRELL that will include coverage of ALL of her work: film, TV and stage. It will be finished in the spring of 2014 and published by Midnight Marquee Press: GLENDA FARRELL: HOLLYWOOD'S HARDBOILED DAME.
- Mark Straka
I greatly enjoy Brenda Farrell's delivery! Her quips, remarks, comebacks, parting shots, etc. have surprised me time and again. I'm a big fan of her style and look forward to all her films.
what a blonde
I would have loved to have had a drink with Glenda-what a dame!
Glenda Farrell: a great actress.
- Hardwicke Benthow
Glenda Farrell was, in my opinion, one of the best actresses of all time. Not the Oscar-winning type, but she livened up her movies with charm, energy and humor. She put so much personality into her movies that you start to feel like you know her once you have seen them. I almost feel like I have met her.
Glenda Farrell, fast-talking, a bit brittle and thoroughly engaging as an actor in either comedy or drama or her own Torchy Blane series. No one could spit out dialogue as rapidly as Glenda Farrell, and her line-readings crackled with zest and seeming sponteneity. Farrell also teamed with Joan Blondell as the most entertaining and witty female comedy-actor team; they paired in about 8 films. Why didn't Warners buy Anita Loos property, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and cast Joan Blondell as Lorelei Lee and Glenda Farrell as her sidekick Dorothy?

Does anyone know if there is a biography on Glenda Farrell or perhaps her autobiography available??
Her class and sex appeal was always there. One of the most attractive women ever.
One Classy Dame
- Laura Anne
Funny, smart, likable and super attractive Glenda Farrell brought real presence to the screen. I enjoyed watching her in The Mystery of the Wax Museum, her performance was charming in what could have been a standard role for lesser actresses. The Torchy movies are great! Glad to see her on TCM...keep up the good work.

The Hard-Boiled Dame!
- Scott Allen Nollen
Glenda stands head and shoulders above all the other "hard-boiled dame" actresses of the 1930s. She was the finest female contract player at Warner Bros., as well as a veteran of the Broadway stage. Equally adept at drama and comedy, she also dripped with sex appeal without ever TRYING to! One of Hollywood's true naturals.
