I am a great fan of Sam Elliott. I was wondering? Did Mr. Elliott ever play an Army Officer during the early 1900's until the late 1940's?? I keep trying to remember the name of the movie and if Mr. Elliott played in a movie like I mentioned, I would love to get it. Thank you very much. Don S.

I have seen most of his movies. He plays a great cowboy, and a great cop. As with most good actors, the studios do not give him enough credit for his acting. They also do not give as many good leading rolls, as he should have had by now. He is a talent that is way under used. I would have liked to seen him in a lot more leading rolls as a police officer, solder, cowboy and reguler joe. I would love to see a modern day crime drama with him in a leading roll with Tom selleck, and Kurt Russel all as good cops. Maybe even the three of them in a good western.
