I write and blog for Wonders in the Dark, a site dedicated to the arts, especially film, and am a great admirer of Duvall's acting, praising her work every chance I get (which isn't often these days, where does Shelley keep herself?). Wonders recently (in April) conducted a poll of the all-time greatest performances by an actress and Duvall ranked very high on my list for her superb performance in Altman's '3 Women,' right behind actresses like Redgrave ('The Loves of Isadora'), Katharine Hepburn ('Alice Adams'), Sophia Loren ('Two Women'), Francoise Fabian ('My Night at Maud's'), Moreau ('Jules and Jim') and several other sublime performances (Falconetti for 'The Passion of Joan of Arc' and Garbo for 'Camille' topped the list). I don't know what Ms. Duvall does with her time, but I certainly wish she'd do more acting.
