BIOGRAPHY

A beautiful leading lady of British and American film and TV, Lesley-Anne Down began her career as a model at age 10. She was named the "Prettiest Teenager in England" and began acting about six years later and has gone on to perform in numerous popular entertainments. On TV, Down first became known to US audiences as Georgina Worsley on "Upstairs, Downstairs" (aired on PBS' "Masterpiece Theater"). She portrayed the British stripper in "Peek-a-Boo: The One and Only Phyllis Dixey" (1979) and played Esmerelda in the 1982 CBS TV remake of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." She also took the Ingrid Bergman role in the small screen remake of "Indiscreet" (CBS, 1988) before spending a year (1989-90) on the CBS primetime soap "Dallas" as Stephanie Rogers, a scheming public relations consultant who helped Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) become National Energy Czar.
