Just saw Story of Three Loves. OMG Kirk was such a hunk! And what a great performance, such intensity! He is still and remains one of the greats! Love him, for his courage in ending the notorious Black List and for his artistry.

A dependable and solid actor for certain kinds of roles...masculine roles. I thought at times he tended to overact, and he was not known for comedy.

kirk douglas one of the greatest and biggest stars ever. explosive, tough, masculine and brave. douglas with his famous cleft chin would deliver memorable movie performances in "out of the past", "champion", "young man with a horn", "detective story", "ace in the hole", "the bad and the beautiful", "lust for life", "paths of glory", "the vikings", "spartacus" and "lonely are the brave". douglas also created his own production company called bryna. he is one of the last of the living legends. a great man of action who had such personality. when i think of great late 1940's and 1950's movie stars kirk doulas, robert ryan, burt lancaster, robert mitchum, richard widmark, tony curtis come to mind. the classic stars and classic movies are the best. tcm is the best channel for classic film lovers!

There was a movie in the 80's or 90's that starred "Kirk Douglas" and "Charles Durning" and others and the theme was about a carrier that goes through a time shift and ends up in 1941, just before Pearl Harbor was attacked.I have not been able to find it.

So powerful. So electrifying. I love this wonderful man!!!!!! He sooo should have won an Oscar. I don't know why he never did. He should have won one for "Spartacus" or one for one of his other brilliant performances.
