Married to actress Edith Hallor, his brother Robert Dillon was a screen writer. Dillon started his career with Keystone in 1913 under the name `John Dillon,' working with Kalem, Farnum, Nestor, Universal, Keystone and Lubin Pictures. The latter part of his career was spent playing bit parts and second leads in ‘B’ pictures. Dillon died of a heart attack, failing to respond to emergency room treatment.
