European star who made her screen debut in the title role of Jean-Luc Godard's "First Name: Carmen" (1983). Detmers gained some notoriety for a steamy scene in Marco Bellochio's "Devil in the Flesh" (1986) and made her English-language debut in Menahem Golan's uninspired "Hannah's War" (1988), about true-life Hungarian-Jewish freedom fighter Hannah Senesh.
