A nurse sets out for vengeance when her younger sister becomes an addict.
An insurance agent lands in hot water when people mistake him for the infamous western outlaw.
Gene Autry (Gene Autry), star of a singing show with the Cass County Boys (Fred S. Martin, Jerry Scoggins and Bert Dodson) billed as "Gene Autry and his Texas Rangers", is mistakenly believed to be an actual Ranger sent to Mountain City investigating trouble on a toll road operated be Jen Larrabee (Gail Davis). Gene discovers the Doc Judson (Grandon Rhodes), the local eye doctor, is behind the trouble so that Jen will sell him her property which contains valuable mica deposits. With the aid of his pal Smiley (Smiley Burnette) and the Cass County Boys, Gene gets the evidence necessary to turn Judson and his associates over to the real Rangers.
Territorial Ranger Gene Autry (Gene Autry) is ordered to protect crusading publisher John Randolph (William Fawcett) and his printer Smiley Burnette (Smiley Burnette) from Art Selbey (Robert Livingston) and Clint Raybold (Gregg Barton), who are using Indian raids as a cover-up for their activities. Randolph is killed by Gene's outlaw brother, using the name of Jack Austin (Richard Crane), who is working for Selby. Believing Gene responsible for her father's death, Ann Randolph (Gail Davis), gets a warrant issued for his arrest. Gene convinces Marshal Hackett (House Peters, Jr.) of his innocence and that he can deliver the real killers, and persuades his mis-led brother Jack to help him capture Selby.
When Ed Wheeler shoots Jim Granby, Gene brings him in. But Wheeler says even if Granby dies he cannot he charged because he has already served 10 years for Granby's supposed murder. Then in flashback Wheeler relates how he and Granby founded Goldtown based on an exaggerated supply of gold and how when Granby blackmailed him, he thought he killed him and confessed to the murder.
Doc Lockwood and his gang are trying to take away Autry's contract for supplying horses to the stagecoach line. Parson Brooks joins Autry in an effort to clean up the town of Sadderlock.
Montana ranch owner Cyrus Bigbee (Don Beddoe) sents his foreman, Gene Autry (Gene Autry), and Rawhide Buttram (Pat Buttram) to his Canadian timber land to stop the marriage of his daughter Sandy (Gail Davis) to Todd Markey (Ross Ford), whom he dislikes. Sandy wants to turn the property into a dude ranch, with Carolina Cotton (Carolina Cotton) and the Cass County Boys (Fred S. Martin, Jerry Scoggins and Bert Dodson) among the entertainers, and runs up against local timbermen who want it for cutting timber. When a Mountie is murdered, with suspicion pointing to Todd, Gene finds the real culprit and brings peace to the area.

During the Civil War, U.S.Army scouts Gene Autry (Gene Autry) and "Cougar" Claggett (Pat Buttram) are detailed to Utah to bring in Confederate guerilla raider Wade McQuarrie (Jim Davis) who is interfering with Federal supply lines. They track the raiders to Gateway, a frontier post commanded by Colonel Middler (Edgar Dearing) who has a daughter, Dell (Gail Davis) and a son, Walt (Bob Steele). Walt secretly supports McQuarrie's actions. Gene and Dell are captured by McQuarrie but escape.
Mayor Autrey sends for a wagon train of women to settle in his town, but baddies Guilford and Rawlings plot to hijack the train and sell the ladies to love-hungry miners instead.
Canadian Mountie Rod Webb (Kirby Grant) has been assigned to the case where three messengers carrying Kenmore Mine payrolls have been robbed and murdered. He travels to the mine on a train with Jane Kenmore (Gail Davis), niece of the mine owner; payroll messenger Brown; an armed guard named Le Clerque (John McGuire) ; and a young mining engineer, Len (Rand Brooks), and his sister Polly (Margaret Field). Someone sneaks chemicals in the stove and, in the confusion, Brown and the conductor are killed and the payroll vanishes. Rod uncovers evidence that Kenmore and his niece, with the help of Le Clerque, have been robbing their own payrolls.
Big Jim Lassiter is trying to put together a western crime syndicate, but postal inspector Gene, with the help of agent Burnette (posing as a horse doctor), are out to stop him.

Randolph Mason (Kirby Grant), who is in love with Melody Colton (Gail Davis, in the 3rd of her 14 films with Autry), daughter of rancher Jim Colton (G. Pat Collins as Pat Collins). Gene manages to forestall one Indian raid, fails to stop another one but does stop the gun-running activities of Curt Raidler (Philip van Zandt) and the Apache Kid (James Griffith).
Rocky Lane (Allan Lane) hits the trail when he gets word that one of two brothers in a partner-ship mining project has been killed by outlaws trying to gain possession of the mine. The other brother, Nugget Clark (Eddy Waller), a testy old sourdough, wants no part of the law, and is particularly set against the young sheriff, Keith Ames (William Henry), courting his niece Trudy (Gail Davis). Playing to the old man's ego, Rocky takes charge of the situation.
