The reason I became addicted to the classics
- Ann Marie
Pier Angeli is and always will be one of my most favorite movie stars. I remember being home sick from school one day and somehow (must have been fate) I ended up on the TCM channel and left it there. Before that day, I was like most teenagers in the 21st century; didnt know of or seen many classics and had the firm belief that black and white was the most boring thing in movies. That all changed. At the time, they were playing Angeli marathon in honor of her birthday. Unfortunately, I only saw bits and pieces of "Teresa" and "The Vintage" but did see many of her other hits like "Somebody Up There likes Me" and one of my favorites, "Merry Andrew". I've been hooked to classics ever since. PLEASE TCM!! HAVE ANOTHER ANGELI MOVIE MARATHON!!! Oh, and a box set would be fantastic too =)
My First Favorite
- Gaston K. Rivera
Pier Angeli was my first favorite movie star. I saw her in "Tomorrow is Too Late", an Italian classic with Vittorio de Sica as the thoughtful teacher. I practically fell in love with her, and after seeing "Teresa" I could only like her more. She was beautiful, sweet, and unpretencious. Pier Angeli was highly successful in the early 1950's and I thought she would become a super international star. I also enjoyed "The Story of Three Loves" and "Somebody Up there Likes Me". Unfortunately, thereafter things didn't go well and we lost a lovely star. Thanks to cinema we will always have her near. Please let me know too if "Sombrero" becomes available in DVD.
My Favourite Actress
- Georges Chamoun
I first saw her in "Teresa" and became an unconditional fan of her. I have a collection of her well known movies. I still miss "Sombrero (1953)". It ran on TCM on October 7th, 2009. Unfortunately, I missed it. I hope TCM will re-run it some day. If it is available on DVD, please let me know.
I am a great fan from this lovely actress
