Michael Culver worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Culver had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (1969) with Peter O'Toole, the Mark Hamill smash hit adventure sequel "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) and the dramatic adaptation "A Passage to India" (1984) with Judy Davis. He had an early role on the television special "The Devil's Web" (1974-75). In the eighties, Culver devoted his time to various credits, such as "Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, Series I" (PBS, 1985), "Chessgame" (PBS, 1986-87) and "The Return of Sherlock Holmes, Series I" (PBS, 1986). He held additional roles in television including a part on "The House of Eliott" (1992). Additionally, he appeared in a number of television specials, including "Fanny By Gaslight" (), "Cadfael 2" (1996-97) and "Cadfael 3" (1997-98). He also appeared in "Touching Evil" (). Culver last acted on "Wallander" (2008-2013).
