Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Canadian-born beauty Emmanuelle Chriqui toiled for years in minor roles before breaking out as a fan favorite on television as a scene stealer on the hit industry series, "Entourage" (HBO, 2004-2011). Having performed in theater from the age of 10, Chriqui began landing small roles in Canadian-filmed productions like "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" (Nickelodeon, 1992-96). Minor parts in projects like "Detroit Rock City" (1999) eventually led to larger, albeit forgettable, roles in the romantic comedy "On the Line" (2001) and the slasher movie "Wrong Turn" (2003). The fabled "big break" finally came when she was brought onboard "Entourage" as Sloane, the tempestuous love interest of the show's resident good guy, Kevin Connelly. It also led to frequent appearances by the exotic starlet in the pages of men's magazines like Stuff and Maxim, usually citing her as one of Hollywood's most desirable women. More feature film work came her way in the form of the Adam Sandler comedy "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" (2008) and the R&B music industry biopic "Cadillac Records" (2008). Post-"Entourage" she picked up another recurring role on cable TV in the historical drama series "The Borgias" (Showtime, 2011- ) and branched out into voice acting on the animated sci-fi adventure "TRON: Uprising" (Disney XD, 2012- ). As versatile as she was gorgeous, Chriqui remained one of film and TV's most desirable actresses.

Born on Dec. 10, 1977 to Jewish parents of Moroccan descent, Chriqui (pronounced "Shreeky") moved with her family from Montreal to Toronto at an early age, spending her childhood in the suburb of Unionville. The acting bug bit after she was cast in a local theater production at age seven; by age 10, she had logged her first job in a Canadian commercial for McDonald's. Guest roles in several Canadian-produced television productions soon followed, including "Forever Knight" (USA, 1992-96) and "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" (Nickelodeon, 1992-96). By the mid-1990s, she had relocated to Vancouver to take advantage of the wealth of film productions there. Her first major Hollywood film role came in the form of a supporting turn in the goofball comedy "Detroit Rock City" (1999) which was quickly followed by the popular Nickelodeon big screen kids' flick "Snow Day" (2000).

Despite the fact that several scenes she had filmed for major movie projects were ultimately left on the infamous cutting room floor, Chriqui soldiered on, gradually paying her dues in a string of largely forgettable theatrical releases. Efforts from this period included the pandering romantic comedy "On the Line" (2001), starring 'N SYNC's Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, as well as the by-the-numbers horror flick "Wrong Turn" (2003). Eventually, her projects began to improve quality-wise. An appearance as herself on the short-lived improvisational series "Unscripted" (HBO, 2005) was followed by a two-episode turn on "The O.C." (Fox, 2003-07) and roles in four motion pictures, including the little-seen restaurant comedy "Waiting " (2005) with Ryan Reynolds, and "In the Mix" (2005), a musical-comedy vehicle for R&B sensation Usher.

Chriqui's breakthrough role came when she joined the cast of producer Mark Wahlberg's Hollywood lifestyle series "Entourage" (HBO, 2004-2011) in 2005 with a recurring role as Sloan Mackewich, daughter to Malcolm McDowell's Terence Mackewich, the arch-nemesis of agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven). Initially targeted by lothario lead Vince (Adrian Grenier), Sloan took a shine to his friend and manager Eric (Kevin Connolly) and introduced a little happiness into Eric's high-pressure life - as well as a touch of sin after she indulged him in a threesome with her best friend Tori (Malin Akerman). For the remaining seven seasons of the acclaimed show's run, the Eric and Sloan on-and-off relationship provided much of "Entourage's" more heartfelt moments. It also led to frequent appearances by the exotic starlet in the pages of men's magazines like Stuff and Maxim, usually citing her as one of Hollywood's most desirable women.

Chriqui's exposure on the popular cable series soon had the desired effect, resulting in a slew of notable film roles. She played the Palestinian love interest of Israeli super-agent Adam Sandler in the slapstick farce "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" (2008), in addition to a supporting turn as the wife of Chess Records founder Leonard Chess (Adrien Brody) in the musical biopic "Cadillac Records" (2008). On the indie side of the business, Chriqui portrayed a prostitute in writer-director Sebastian Gutierrez's "Women in Trouble" (2009) and reprised the role for its sequel, "Elektra Luxx" (2010), starring Carla Gugino in the titular role she originated in the first film.

Far from leading to a downturn in her work schedule, the end of "Entourage" in 2011 merely freed up the much in demand Chriqui, who made an appearance in director Renny Harlin's Russian-Georgian conflict drama "5 Days of War" (2011) alongside Rupert Friend, Richard Coyle and Val Kilmer. That same year, the actress picked up a recurring role as Sancha of Aragon, the beautiful and illegitimate daughter of the King of Naples (Michel Muller) on the historical drama series "The Borgias" (Showtime, 2011- ). Chriqui's distinctive voice also served her well, garnering her work on a pair of high-profile animated series. First, as the cat-like warrior Cheetara on the fantasy-adventure series "Thundercats" (Cartoon Network, 2011- ), followed by another regular voice role on the highly-anticipated "TRON: Uprising" (Disney XD, 2012- ).
