Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

With a raspy voice and impressive microphone skills, rapper Xzibit has crawled forth from the muck of the rap world to become a major force in a musical genre that has seen its share of mediocre talent and imitators. Though the rapper hasn't sold a great deal of albums-only one in four have gone platinum-Xzibit has managed to inject heart and soul into his lyrics, mainly because he's one of the few to have actually lived what he raps about. Meanwhile, Xzibit has expanded his entertainment universe to include hosting duties on the popular MTV series, "Pimp My Ride" (MTV, 2004- ). A take on such popular makeover reality shows as "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" (Bravo, 2002-) and "Extreme Makeover" (ABC, 2002- ), "Pimp My Ride" turns an otherwise worthless piece of junk into a tricked-out ride complete with chrome mags, spoiler and hydraulic shocks-the envy of every pimp on the block.

Notes

"...I really didn't know how the public would react to me (the first time out). I look at makin' records like I do anything. Like just talkin' to you, I gotta introduce myself to some extent before you even take any weight for what my conversation holds."---Xzibit sonymusic.com
