Actor Bill Mondy is best known for his role as Sheriff's Deputy Roscoe on the paranormal series "The Dead Zone." Born in Rochester, New York, Mondy attended NYU's Graduate Acting Program, earning a Master of Fine Arts. He appeared on stage in New York and throughout the country before moving to Los Angeles, where he started his screen-acting career. One of his first notable roles was on the 1989 adaptation of "Last Exit to Brooklyn," which he followed with an appearance on the popular legal drama "L.A. Law." In 1994 he appeared as a trigger-happy alien on the science fiction series "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," and later that same year showed up in the teen drama "Beverly Hills, 90210." Throughout the 1990s, Mondy appeared extensively in TV movies, including the true-crime tales "Murder at 75 Birch" and "Unabomber: The True Story." In 2002, Mondy began his multi-season run as a lawman on the cable series "The Dead Zone," working with a psychic to solve bewildering crimes.
