Early in his career, Lance Bass was one fifth of 'N Sync, the biggest-selling music group in the America during the dawn of the new millennium. Millions of teen girls screamed with excitement at the sight of Bass and his bandmates at sold-out arena tours, award shows and numerous appearances on MTV's "Total Request Live" (1998- ). The group's success paved the way for Bass to pursue his other dreams, including acting in film and theater, producing, writing a 2007 memoir - even getting certified by NASA and the Russian Space Program to go into outer space. Dubbed "the quiet member" of 'N Sync, Bass made his voice heard in 2006 when he broke the ultimate silence and came out as a gay man. "I think it's time for me to stand up and help educate," Bass said in a 2008 public service announcement. That same year, the singer who was almost dropped from 'N Sync because he lacked dancing skills, competed on the seventh season of "Dancing With the Stars" (ABC, 2005- ) proving time and time again, that nothing could stop him when he set goals and let his true talent lead the way.
