Linda Emond is an American stage and screen actress best known for her role in 2009's "Julie & Julia." In the film Emond portrayed Simone "Simca" Beck, who, along with French chef Julia Child, helped introduce French cuisine into the American kitchen with their seminal cookbook, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." Although she has appeared in several other films and television series, including "The Sopranos," "The Good Wife," and "Gossip Girl," Emond is primarily a New York stage actor, with countless awards to her credit. For her work on Broadway, she was nominated for a Tony Award for 2003's "Life x 3," and appeared opposite Al Pacino in the off-Broadway production of "The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui." Emond has also worked with the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner on his 2001 play "Homebody/Kabul," which has spanned five years and three productions, as well as Kushner's "The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures."
