Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Most Hollywood child actors grow up while the whole world watches. A fine example was hardworking and talented Lacey Chabert. Best known for playing Claudia Salinger on the hit FOX network drama, "Party of Five" (1994-2000), Chabert was not alone in making her name for herself courtesy of this endearing series. The show also launched the careers of "Lost" (ABC, 2004- )star Matthew Fox; "Ghost Whisperer" (CBS, 2004- ) lead Jennifer Love Hewitt; and Neve Campbell, who went on to big screen success with the "Scream" (1996) franchise. But it was Chabert's highly emotional preteen role of Claudia that won everyone's hearts for six seasons. The fact that the young actress later blossomed into a shapely adult beauty was also not lost on fans, who had a hard time believing their little Claudia had finally grown up - enough to adorn the cover of Maxim magazine.

Notes

"I read a lot of things that play the same way--bratty and obnoxious and sort of 'been done a lot.' It is hard to find something that is unusual and where the character has complications other than 'What sort of lipstick should I wear today?'" --Lacey Chabert quoted in NEW ZEALAND HERALD, February 7, 1998

"I am sort of insecure all of a sudden; I don't have the same confidence I had as a child. I am in the process of searching for myself." --Chabert to TIME OUT NEW YORK, April 9-16, 1998

"Part of that has been for a reason. I am trying to be so particular in the roles that I choose. But it is a hard transition, you know? People see you as a child, and then you are all grown up and some people don't know how to handle that."---Chabert on why she has worked much in the past few years People April 30, 2004
