Known as "The Girl Who Was Too Beautiful." She moved with her adoptive parents to California while she was in her early teens. She planned to be a writer and after marrying her first husband and moving to New York City, she began writing screenplays and eventually wound up back in Hollywood, in front of the camera. Her film career was booming and so was her night life, she claimed to sleep for only two hours per night – that life was too short for sleep. La Marr died of tuberculosis and nephritis.
