Blonde leading lady of American silent film who began with a role in the Theda Bara classic, "A Fool There Was" (1915), and was a popular star by the time American entered WWI. Allison and Harold Lockwood former one of the most popular screen teams of their day in films including "Big Tremaine" (1916). Her popularity continued into the late 1920s, but Allison retired in 1927 to nurse her ill second husband, James Quirk, editor of Photoplay magazine, and did not return to her screen career after he died in 1932.
