Agreat classical actor who never got the chance.

I've seen him many times on screen and TV, but only once on stage, that "Hamlet" that he did in Birmingham all those years ago which I've never forgotten. I've seen some great Hamlets, and his stood well up against them. What a tragedy that the US had no sort of permanent classical rep, like the RSC or Old Vic, where he might have found a home and developed into a classical actor of the sort found more often in Europe or Asia, He had the voice, the stage presence, the delivery, the intelligence, the ability to work tirelessly at his craft, all the attributes of someone who would dominate the stage and develop over the years from parts suitable for a young man to those great roles like King Lear. A great star of mini series and TV, stage and musicals, but nevertheless somewhat less than he might have been.
BEST VERSATILE MOST OVERLOOKED ACTOR
RC HAS DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO HIS CAREER OVER HIS OWN LIFE. HAS PLAYED ALL TYPES OF CHARACTERS ON SCREEN, TV AND STAGE ALL OVER WORLD. ALSO HE IS TALENTED ARTIST AND PLAYS PIANO VERY WELL. HE GIVES HIS ALL TO ANYTHING THAT HE DOES INCLUDING ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS. SINCE HE WAS 60'S HEART THROB AND MINI SERIES KING, MORE OF HIS FILMS SHOULD BE SHOWN LIKE WALLENBERG HERO STORY AND DREAM WEST.

Richard Chamberlain drew more fan mail than even Clark Gable when Chamberlain was at MGM during the Dr. Kildare days. Chamberlain was part of a great MGM stock company of contract stars such as George Peppard, Paula Prentiss, Jim Hutton, Yvette Mimieux, George Hamilton, Luana Patten, et al. MGM cast Chamberlain in a fine western Thunder of Drums with Patten and Hamilton, Twilight of Honor, and the hit film Joy In The Morning with Ms. Mimieux. A fine actor and a man of Integrity
What an actor!
Richard Chamberlain is a highly talented and wonderfully versatile actor. His passion for acting and his masterly performances on the big screen, on TV and on stage make of him one of the greatest actors of his generation.
I have seen him do Shakespear in Seattle and watched him on TV's Dr. Kildare, loved his portrayal of McKeag in Centennial, and he's always on top of his game.
