Claude Cerval worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Cerval kickstarted his acting career in various films such as the crime feature "Bob le Flambeur" (1955) with Roger Duchesne, the drama "Les Cousins" (1958) with Gerard Blain and the Gerard Blain drama "Handsome Serge" (1959). He also appeared in the Jean Gabin crime flick "Any Number Can Win" (1963). He kept working in film throughout the sixties, starring in "Germinal" (1963), "The Big Risk" (1963) with Lino Ventura and "Belle de Jour" (1967). During the latter half of his career, he continued to act in the comedic fantasy "The Milky Way" (1970) with Laurent Terzieff, the Andre Jocelyn drama "Ophelia" (1974) and "Mourir d'aimer." Cerval also acted in "The Love Game."
