BIOGRAPHY

Tall, dignified character actor popular on the London and New York stages before turning to Hollywood in 1934. Carroll appeared in more Hitchcock films then anyone other than the director himself, most notably as the insidious Dr. Murchison in "Spellbound" (1945).
