  His starring movies are never shown and hard to find. Loved him in Hired Wife as supporting player. His beautiful singing voice was not used enough.

  John Carrol, aka Julian Lafaye, was in my opinion one of a number of Hollywood actors who was very underated and deserved star status. He was very handsome and his singing voice was beautiful. He, along with actor John Hodiak, are among my favorite Golden Age actors.

  Was good in all types of roles. I really enjoyed his westerns. Could be a very good bad guy!! Would love to see "Angel In Exile" again. He was cast as the dark loner with a past. Very effective.

• John Carroll - Steals the show in Flying Tigers!

  I do not know what happened to this fine actor but he just disappeared. He certainly had the look, charisma and charm of a top notch actor. I think he stole the show in this one. He could sing too! I saw him in an early musical and he had a great baritone voice. Too bad he was over looked.
