One of the best side kicks ever

An Icon in so many fields.I Have a great 3 Lp set that shows he wrote mopre than "Stardust" and "Lazy River" with great chops vocal and piano. But if you had to pick a bar side kick (and it's a shame he got only a few times to be directed in a different context but that's typecasting just like racist views of blacks of era, females, etc etc). But his laconic drawl and worldliness with out being weary and lack of unnecessary cynicism made his performances, especially in "The Best Years Of Our Lives" as Butch and as Cricket in "To Have and Have Not".If not pivotal surely enriched.Much deserving of more recogniton. And American Music would just no be he same without him.One of my faves.

I find it strange that your listing for Mr. Carmichael neglets to include his musical accomplishments. Mainly the composing (what is widely considered the best song ever) of "STARDUST".
