Cane played on the New York stage before he moved to Hollywood and began acting in movies. On Broadway he appeared in 1924’s ‘Artists and Models’ with Flo Campbell. He rarely appeared as more than a bit player, usually playing truck drivers. Cane retired in 1961 and later died from a stroke. His brother Robert Cannefax was a former world champion billiard player.
