BIOGRAPHY

Frank Campanella was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Campanella began his acting career with roles in such films as the Paul Newman biopic drama "Somebody Up There Likes Me" (1956), "Four Boys and a Gun" (1957) with Frank Sutton and "Stage Struck" (1958) with Henry Fonda. He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "Parrish" (1961) with Troy Donahue, the Sal Mineo thriller "Who Killed Teddy Bear?" (1965) and the Rock Hudson suspenseful adaptation "Seconds" (1966). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies, appearing in the action movie "The Stone Killer" (1973) with Charles Bronson, the comedy "Chesty Anderson - U.S. Navy" (1975) with Shari Eubank and the action film "Capone" (1975) with Ben Gazzara. He also appeared in "High Anxiety" (1977). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Young Doctors in Love" (1982), the Matt Dillon comedic drama "The Flamingo Kid" (1984) and the comedy "Free Ride" (1986) with Gary Hershberger. He also appeared in "Nothing in Common" (1986) and the Goldie Hawn comedy "Overboard" (1987). Campanella last worked on the dramatic comedy "Raising Helen" (2004) with Kate Hudson. Campanella passed away in December 2006 at the age of 87.
