Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

A veteran character actor of film and television, Jason Wingreen started his career with a bang, appearing in such 1950s Western series as "The Rough Riders" and "Man Without a Gun." Beginning with a regular role as Police Captain Dorsett in the second season of the 1959-1963 crime drama "The Untouchables," Wingreen became increasingly more involved in 20th-century-set law and crime shows, including "Mannix," "Ironside," "Burke's Law," "The Fugitive," and "The Rockford Files." Wingreen made a splash in the sitcom world as the bartender Harry Snowden on the landmark series "All in the Family" and its spin-off, "Archie Bunker's Place." He appeared on the seminal '80s cop show "Hill Street Blues" before landing the recurring role of Judge Arthur Beaumont on the geriatric legal drama "Matlock." In addition to appearing on the venerable 1959-1964 anthology series "The Twilight Zone" as well as its oft-compared contemporary, "The Outer Limits," Wingreen is one of the few actors to be involved in both "Star Wars" and "Star Trek," appearing as the voice of Bobba Fett in the latter franchise's original trilogy and as a doctor on the former franchise's original series.
