Ray Bradbury was born in Waukegan, Illinois on August 20, 1920. An author of hundreds of short stories, and novels such as the American classic, "Fahrenheit 451", Mr. Bradbury was recently honored by President George Bush at the White House for his life's work. In 2000, Mr. Bradbury was honored by the National Book Foundation with a medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. His most recent work is "Farewell Summer", a sequel to his earlier work, "Dandelion Wine.".
