James Whitmore is one of the greatest old school actors of all time... his one man stage plays were my favorites..

James Whitmore was one of the best actors I have ever wittness in my life. "Bully"was the first professional play I had ever seen. It was in Tampa, Florida where Teddy Rosevelt had stayed many times. Now the University of Tampa. James Whitmore was the star and only actor. It was unblieveable. He was the only one on stage and I believe there were dozens of others. He made it so alive. I have always wanted to see him again. I also loved him as Will Rodgers.

James Whitmore is one of Hollywood's most underrated actors. Even in schlocky productions(and he has done several)he stands out as consummate pro. He is one of my favorite actors and he does bring to mind a poor man's Tracey.
