Throughout his Hollywood career, Fats Waller's musical talent was featured in a variety of Hollywood productions. Waller worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "A Sense of Loss" (1972), "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" with Jane Russell (1955) and "Hall alla dorrar Oppna" with Kisa Magnusson (1973). He also contributed to "Hooray For Love" (1935) starring Ann Sothern, "King of Burlesque" (1935) starring Warner Baxter and "Stormy Weather" (1943) starring Lena Horne. Waller was also credited in "Zelig" with Woody Allen (1983), "The Cotton Club" (1984) and "What Happened to Kerouac?" (1985). He also was recognized in "Death of a Soldier" with James Coburn (1986). Waller's music was most recently featured in the Jack Black comedy "Be Kind Rewind" (2008). Waller passed away in December 1943 at the age of 39.
