- Tommy Kendrick
- 2012-06-11
Over a forty plus year career in films, Gregory Walcott played opposite some of the screens biggest stars and for some of its biggest directors. In 1949 he hitch-hiked from Wilson, NC to Los Angeles, CA hoping to break into the film business. Between 1951 and his retirement in the mid-1990s he appeared in over 300 television shows and over 50 feature films. He shared the film screen with Gregory Peck, Clint Eastwood, Sally Field, Jeff Bridges, Gene Hackman, Lee Marvin, Sissy Spacek, Tony Curtis, Alan Ladd, Richard Widmark, Jack Lemmon, Henry Fonda and many more. In 1967 he produced and starred in "Bill Wallace of China", one of the early indie films aimed at a faith-based market. He was also an ordained minister who was a guest speaker in countless churches and conventions across the country. He is a shining example of a Hollywood success story that has a happy ending.
