I was moved by the several movies TCM showed recently, that featured Lupe Velez. After seeing these movies, I had to learn more about Miss Velez. I went online and found quite a bit about her. Even after several weeks of seeing her movies, I still feel touched by her. I really feel bad about the circumstance behind her death. I think this is what still affects me. Through her movies, she still lives on (thanks to TCM). Thank you TCM! Sincerely, a loyal viewer

Thank -you TCM for showing the Mexican Spitfire movies during Thanksgiving. I had only heard of them and seen pictures of them throughout the years that I had been watching and taping old movies. So it was a real treat to see all of them and see the talent that Ms.Velez had that is so often igorned and she only being remebered for her tragic death a year later after Mexican Spitfire's Blessed Event. Once again Turner Classic Movies has unearthed the work of truly great artist.
any Latino that was able to make it to Hollywood in the 1930s without changing their name to something more American gets a lot of respect from me...it doesn't hurt that Miss Velez was also super sexy and funny to boot!!
BRING BACK LUPE
"Half Naked Truth" aired recently. Not surprising was it's corney unrealistic theme, however, I was struck by the darling hip gyrating talents of Lupe Velez. I am sure "The Church" condemned this film at the time. I love that accent and wish we could see more of her films. Find a photo to post and revitilze this actress!
